Anthropology Field SessionsÌý

On November 28,the Anthropology Field Sessions took place, during which students presented the results of their fieldwork.
The presentations covered a wide range of topics—from the nuances of Kyrgyz wedding traditions to cemeteries as visual archives, and from the cultural roles of tea and coffee in Istanbul to archaeological findings from the Saka period and the Bronze Age.

Fieldwork remains an essential part of the student learning experience. It allows students to engage directly with the world around them, develop practical research skills, and cultivate a curious and analytical mindset. It also boosts their confidence and provides meaningful experience in communicating and interacting with people from diverse communities and social backgrounds.

This long-standing annual tradition creates an environment where students can easily exchange ideas, inspire one another, and share their perspectives. Such a collaborative atmosphere enriches their academic journey and contributes to building a strong foundation for their future studies and careers.
